GET INVOLVED

Become a volunteer today and join us in serving the Memphis urban community. For more information about becoming a volunteer, please contact mike@advancememphis.org.

mentorCHAMPION

Provide one on one assistance and mentoring to a Jobs for Life participant as he/she pursues employment. The goal is to build a relationship with a Jobs for Life particpant while encouraging them to apply the principles of God's Word to all areas of life: career, finances, and family. This is an opportunity for real impact. To see a Champion Job Description, click here.

COUNSELORS

Work with students who have requested help dealing with emotional roadblocks in their lives. While staff work hard to listen, advise and support, a professional counselor is sometimes the best help for our students. To see a Volunteer Counselor Job Description, click here.

LUNCH PROVIDERS

When the Jobs for Life class is in session, volunteers provide lunch for the students. These volunteers are providing more than just a meal--they are providing a time for fellowship and relationship building that is vital to the work at Advance Memphis. If you would like to provide lunch for approximately 25 students for one day, please contact ann@advancememphis.org. To see a Volunteer Lunch Provider Job Description, click here.

GED TUTORS

Volunteer tutors work closely with students to help them prepare for the GED exam. Tutors are needed in all subject areas: grammar, writing, math, science and history. To see a Volunteer GED Tutor Job Description, click here.

CLASS SPEAKERS

Share their knowledge related to finances, employment, workplace ethics, and more. Students often cite speakers as the most inspiring part of the Jobs for Life class. If you're looking for an opportunity to share "real world" experience with students who are setting goals and changing their lives, please contact Andrew Vincent at andrew@advancememphis.org. To see a Volunteer Class Speaker Job Description, click here.

PRAYER PARTNERS

Commit to praying for the programs, staff, and students of Advance Memphis on a regular basis. If you're interested in making this commitment and receiving our Prayer Emails, please contact Ann Brainerd at ann@advancememphis.org. To see a Volunteer Prayer Partner Job Description, click here.
