COVID-19 Response
Advance Memphis is continuing to fulfill our mission of empowering our neighbors in South Memphis to establish economic stability through Christ during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our classes have resumed and are being held in-person in accordance with national and local guidelines for safe social distancing and classroom capacity. As we listen closely to the changing needs of our neighbors, we are trusting God to help us continue developing strategies for supporting our individual graduates. Rather than a blanket emergency relief program at this time, however, we are committed to providing emergency relief assistance within the context of relationship.
Advance Memphis is providing support through:
Subsidizing wage loss due to COVID-19 related circumstances
Work opportunities through Advance Memphis Staffing & Warehousing
Job Coaching — navigating roadblocks, resumes and job applications
Money Management Coaching — Important particularly during this time of economic uncertainty and stress for our neighbors.
How You Can Help
Pray
We believe there is power in prayer. Sign up to receive regular prayer requests and updates from the neighborhood through our prayer newsletter.
Give
Support graduates through our COVID-19 Relief Fund by designating “COVID Support” in the giving memo. Public transportation is also a challenge for working graduates right now. Please consider giving a $25 donation or Uber gift card.
Provide
Providing protective gear is invaluable. We are currently collecting disposable masks and gloves for graduates working through Advance Memphis Staffing Services.
