Prayer Guide
Below, we list specific ways you can be praying for our South Memphis neighbors, our ministry, and our city. This list was designed for our 12 Hours of Prayer on June 25 2026, but many of these requests are evergreen.
Our South Memphis Neighbors
Pray for our neighbors with tough family and relationship dynamics, that they would see reconciliation.
Pray that our community (and all of us) would address conflict in a healthy, direct manner — going to the source instead of gossiping.
Pray for those battling with addiction, that they would be delivered and have freedom from it.
Pray for those experiencing housing instability, especially those with kids.
Pray for those who have lost loved ones this year or are struggling with illness.
Praise God for our neighbors who have recently accepted Christ and are applying the Gospel to their lives.
Pray that the Lord would continue shaping hearts for Him.
Pray for our graduates who have not gone on to work. Pray against roadblocks such as access to childcare, transportation, illness, or the effects of trauma.
Pray that our graduates would grow in their ability to respond to stress and conflict in the workplace.

Our Ministry
Pray for the Gospel to be heard and engaged with in our Work Life class.
Pray for each participant that comes to class, that they would remain committed and feel loved and challenged in this space.
Pray for peace and strength for participants as they work through their own stories and work to overcome roadblocks.
Pray for our continued recruiting efforts, that God would continue to bring those He wants to the class.
We are currently onboarding and offboarding multiple staff members. Please pray for our board and staff in this season of transition.
Pray for our staff to grow in our faith in this transition, keeping in mind Robert Morgan’s Red Sea Rules (#1 Realize that God means for you to be where you are. #2 Be more concerned for God's glory than for your relief. #3 Acknowledge your enemy, but keep your eyes on the Lord. #4 Pray! #5 Stay calm and confident, and give God time to work. #6 When unsure, just take the next logical step by faith. #7 Envision God's enveloping presence. #8 Trust God to deliver in His own unique way. #9 View your current crisis as a faith builder for the future. #10 Don't forget to praise Him.)
Praise God for Jim Wehner, who has been teaching our team about ourselves and how we work together.
Pray for more partnerships and opportunities for Advance Memphis Fulfillment, our social enterprise 3PL. Work has slowed this summer, as our largest customer’s business is seasonal.
Pray for our efforts to launch a Bible study and sponsor counseling for more of our neighbors, that folks would be receptive to receiving help.
Pray for strengthened relationships with neighbors, community members, leaders, and other resources.
Pray for boldness and strength to love our neighbors without fear or hesitation.
Pray for our volunteers as they work with students and continue to build relationships with them.
Pray for our annual Art for Jobs fundraiser, that God would provide sponsors, artists, and buyers.
Our City
Pray for Memphis-Shelby County Schools, for its leaders, teachers, and students.
Pray for our city’s media members during a stressful year.
Pray that the local Church would not feel paralyzed by fear but be moved to get involved and speak up.
